In May 2023, ADAC launched a pilot project at the “Hockenheim Historic – The Jim Clark Revival” at the Hockenheimring: For the first time, the automobile club became involved in historic motorsports on a circuit. After the successful premiere, the ADAC is now going one step further and will take over the title patronage of the “Hockenheim Historic” in the future and support the organization and staging of the event. In doing so, the mobility club is taking account of the great interest shown by participants and visitors in classic motor sport events and in the “Hockenheim Historic” in particular. At this year’s edition, the event once again lived up to its reputation as one of the largest and most attractive classic events in Europe. In front of a record crowd of more than 35,000 fans, around 500 vehicles in eleven racing series made the Motodrom shake, offering a fascinating mix of historic formula, touring, GT and super sports cars.

“The ADAC is a leader in German motorsport and also an ideal contact for all matters relating to historic vehicles. As a logical consequence, we are happy to support historic motorsport, which is inspiring more and more fans and participants. We are now developing the successful pilot project further into the ‘ADAC Hockenheim Historic’, we are looking forward to the cooperation at this renowned event,” says Thomas Voss, ADAC Head of Motorsport, Classic and Events.

“At the ‘ADAC Hockenheim Historic’, ADAC will not only contribute its expertise in hosting and communicating motorsport events, but will also be involved in the acquisition of other exciting racing series. The ADAC promotes a number of series that can be a further enrichment for our starting field,” knows Jochen Nerpel, Managing Director of Hockenheim-Ring GmbH.

His managing director colleague Jorn Teske adds: “It is a nice confirmation for us that the ADAC has already decided to take over the title patronage for several years after only one year of cooperation at the ‘Hockenheim Historic’. The integration of the ADAC in the name and logo of the event is a strong signal, but the cooperation will go far beyond that – we are looking forward to it. Together with ADAC, the success story of the ‘Hockenheim Historic’ will gather even more momentum.”
